You don’t have to navigate cancer alone.

Nurse-led education and navigation support for people facing cancer and the caregivers who love them.

Cancer throws information, appointments, and emotions at you all at once.

My role is to walk beside you, helping you make sense of the process, prepare for conversations with your care team, and feel more grounded as you move through each phase of care.

This support exists alongside your oncology care, not in place of it.

You were never meant to manage all of this by yourself.

Most people are sent into treatment with a stack of papers, a few rushed conversations, and the expectation that they’ll somehow “just know” what to do.

In reality, you may be:

• overwhelmed by medical language and information
• worried about whether you’re asking the right questions
• unsure when something is worth bringing to your care team’s attention
• exhausted from trying to be strong for everyone else
• searching online late at night and feeling more anxious afterward

You’re not failing at this. You simply haven’t been given the time, space, and support you deserve.

Desk With Notebook

Wherever you are in your cancer journey, support can look different.

I work with individuals and caregivers across key phases of care

New Diagnosis – “What does all of this mean?”

We focus on making sense of information you’re receiving, preparing for appointments, and helping you organize questions so you feel less blindsided during visits.

Active Treatment – “How do I get through this?”

Support centers on navigating day-to-day challenges, understanding what to discuss with your care team, pacing energy, and feeling more supported between appointments.

Transition & Survivorship – “What happens now?”

When treatment slows down or ends, we focus on navigating uncertainty, emotional adjustment, follow-up conversations, and advocating for yourself as care becomes less frequent.

What working together actually looks like.

This is not a course you’re left to figure out on your own, and it is not medical care.

It is a guided partnership with clear roles, boundaries, and expectations

  • Step 1 – Apply

  • You complete a short application so we can determine whether this support is an appropriate fit and within my scope as a nurse.

  • Step 2 – Meet & Orient

  • If we’re a good fit, we’ll meet to talk through where you are in your care, what feels most overwhelming, and which program option aligns best with your current needs.

  • Step 3 – Ongoing Education & Navigation

  • Through one-on-one sessions, weekday messaging during set hours, and optional worksheets, you’ll receive support focused on understanding your care process, preparing for conversations, and reducing overwhelm.

Step 4 – Transition With Intention

  • As your situation changes, we’ll discuss what kind of support feels helpful next, whether that’s continued navigation during treatment or support through survivorship.

Who this is for?

My work is for people who want informed support, someone who understands oncology, respects your medical team, and helps you feel more prepared and less alone.

This may be for you if:

  • you’re newly diagnosed and feel like you can’t keep up

  • you’re in treatment and feel under-supported or rushed through care

  • you want help preparing for appointments and understanding the information discussed

  • you’re a caregiver trying to support someone through treatment

  • you value clear education, safety, and honesty

This is not for you if:

  • you’re looking for medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment decisions

  • you need emergency or urgent symptom support

  • you want to replace your oncologist or primary care provider

 Meet your guide

Hi, I’m Allyson , an Oncology Education & Navigation Specialist and founder of Northbound Roots LLC.

I’ve spent years working in oncology settings and have seen how overwhelming care can feel once you leave the exam room.

I created this practice to bridge that gap,  to give you space to slow down, ask questions, and understand the process in a way that feels manageable and grounded.

I’m here to help you:

• make sense of information you’re receiving
• prepare for difficult conversations
• recognize when something may be worth discussing with your care team
• feel more like a human and less like a case number

You don’t have to figure this out alone.

Whether you’re at the very beginning, in the middle of treatment, or navigating life after treatment, you deserve support that is calm, clear, and informed by oncology experience, not random advice from the internet.

If you’re not sure which program fits your current situation, we’ll explore that together during your application and initial conversation.
